Silicone-coated medical release film is a technical liner solution based on PET, PE and PP film substrates for medical tapes, advanced wound care products, surgical fixation products and other pressure-sensitive adhesive (PSA) medical applications. The solvent-free silicone release coating protects acrylic, hot-melt and silicone-based PSAs during manufacturing, lamination, converting and prior to application, while enabling controlled removal of the liner.
The film-based construction eliminates fiber shedding associated with paper liners and helps reduce particulate contamination risk. A smooth surface, controlled caliper and dimensional stability support reliable web handling during high-speed winding, lamination and rotary die-cutting processes. Release level should be selected for each application according to the film substrate, silicone system, adhesive chemistry, peel speed and process conditions. PE and PP substrates also provide flexible alternatives for applications requiring different mechanical properties and conformability.
