Industrial Silicone-Coated Release Films

Film-based release liner solutions for pressure-sensitive adhesive applications requiring high surface smoothness, dimensional stability and controlled release performance.

Silicone-coated release films are technical liner materials used to protect adhesive surfaces throughout manufacturing, lamination, cutting, rewinding, storage and prior to application. Compared with paper-based release liners, film substrates can offer a smoother surface, controlled caliper and, depending on the substrate, high dimensional stability.

Napol Global silicone-coated release films can be supplied on PET, PE, PP/BOPP and CPP substrates, with single- or double-sided silicone coating and release levels selected according to the adhesive system and application requirements.

When to Use a Film Release Liner

Film release liners are suitable for applications where surface smoothness, precision cutting, transparency, dimensional stability or controlled release performance are important.

Typical applications include medical adhesive products, precision die-cut components, electronic components, double-sided tapes, protective films, labels and technical laminates.

Film Substrate Selection

PET release film is preferred for applications requiring high dimensional stability and precision die-cutting.
PE release film is suitable for applications requiring flexibility and conformability.
PP/BOPP release film can be used in tape, label and lamination applications.
CPP release film is suitable for applications requiring a softer and more flexible film construction.
Double-sided silicone-coated release film is used in adhesive systems requiring controlled release from both surfaces.

Product Selection

Film substrate, adhesive system, target release force, single- or double-sided silicone coating, film thickness, roll width and converting conditions should be evaluated together.
