PE-coated medical paper is a packaging material produced by extrusion coating medical-grade kraft paper with polyethylene. Supplied by Napol Global, the material is designed for packaging medical devices and consumables where moisture protection and heat-seal performance are required.
During production, molten polyethylene is applied directly to the paper surface by extrusion coating. This structure creates a uniform bond between the paper and PE without requiring a separate adhesive layer. Under suitable temperature, pressure and dwell-time conditions, the PE-coated surface provides heat-sealability and supports repeatable sealing performance on automated packaging lines. The polyethylene layer improves the paper’s moisture-barrier properties while contributing to the mechanical integrity of the structure.
It is a material solution combining protection, processability and heat-sealing performance for medical packaging applications.
